Ceramic Handbuilding Ages 12-14 (Week 5)

Discover the art of ceramic hand-building! In this camp, students will explore various techniques, including pinch, slab, and coil methods. Throughout the week, participants will create a range of projects while gaining essential skills in ceramic hand-building. Completed works will be available for pick-up approximately two weeks after the camp ends, and caregivers will receive email notifications when projects are ready.

Exploring Nature & Landscapes Ages 12-14 (Week 4)

Connect with the beauty of the outdoors! Students will use a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, and collage, to capture the beauty of nature. Students will gain inspiration from landscapes, plants, and wildlife while developing their skills in observation and creativity. Note: Weather permitting, some classes may be held outside at McCulloch Park. 

 

Stop Motion Animation Ages 12-14 (Week 4)

Lights, cameras, animate! This camp is for aspiring animators who are ready to dive into the world of stop-motion animations. Students will learn fundamental photography techniques to produce their animated creations. This week, students will learn skills for plot development and character design. Students will utilize a variety of materials including clay, cardboard, pipe cleaners, and more. Final projects will be premiered to friends and family on the last day of camp. 

 

Filmmaker's Camp Ages 12-14 (Week 3)

Lights, camera, ACTION! Students will collaborate to explore the art of storytelling and filmmaking. Students will learn various filming and editing techniques and develop essential skills in crafting plots, writing scripts, and creating props. Join us on the last day of camp for the World Premiere of this week’s films. Note: Students will use cameras and MacBooks provided by the EAC. Students are welcome to bring in personal cameras.

 

Recycled Sculptures Ages 12-14 (Week 2)

Construct, sculpt, and mold your creativity! This camp is dedicated to the exciting world of 3D art and sculpture. Students will work with a variety of materials including recycled items, clay, and paper to craft unique recycled sculptures. Throughout the week, students will be encouraged to experiment with different materials and deepen their understanding of 3D forms. 

 

Beginning Painting Ages 12-14 (Week 2)

This camp will emphasize the fundamentals of acrylic painting! Students will explore various forms of representational art, including landscapes and still lifes while developing their painting skills. While this camp concentrates on observational rendering skills, students will also have the opportunity to create imaginative and experimental pieces, allowing for both structured learning and creative explorations.

 

Inky Illustrations Ages 12-14 (Week 1)

Explore the exciting world of illustration! In this camp, students will explore contemporary illustration by creating hand-drawn original characters, fantasy creatures, and sci-fi landscapes. Participants will experiment with various styles and mediums, including watercolor and ink, to develop their artistic skills and personal style. Intro to Digital Photography Ages 12-14 (Week 1)

Learn the fundamentals of DSLR photography in this hands-on camp! Students will explore both automatic and manual settings, building confidence as they discover how to adjust exposure, shutter speed, and aperture for varied effects. Basic photo editing techniques using Adobe Photoshop will also be covered. At the end of the camp, students will print their favorite images to showcase their work. Note: Students will use cameras and MacBooks provided by the EAC. Students are welcome to bring in personal cameras.
