STUDIO EXHIBITION: STUDENTS OF YUKO INOUE-DARCY

January 9 – 12, 2018

In this EAC class, Ikebana Flower Arranging, the Japanese art of arranging flowers, Yuko Inoue-Darcy teaches students to express the beauty and elegance of nature through a transformation of fresh or dried plant materials. Each week, students create new and different styles of arrangements, exploring the discipline and values of Ikebana through the knowledge and application of rules and forms, to appreciate an idealized approach to nature!

STUDIO EXHIBITION: STUDENTS OF KATHERINE HILDEN

January 9 – February 1, 2018

In both EAC classes, What Would Mondrian Do? and Multi-Level Drawing, Katherine Hilden teaches her students about the masters of modernism and how line, value, edge and weight can create tension and movement in your work.

STUDIO EXHIBITION: STUDENTS OF NANCY SICKBERT-WHEELER

January 9 – February 1, 2018

In this EAC class, Metalsmithing: Jewelry, Objects and More, Nancy Sickbert-Wheeler teaches her students to re ne their skills and build upon new techniques and design skills. Soldering, sawing, glass enameling, stone setting and construction bring together these nished pieces. Students combine copper, silver and brass using techniques and final finishes incorporated in each work to achieve its unique design.

JANINA MONKUTĖ MARKS

February 17 – 25, 2018
Opening Reception: Sunday, February 25 from 1 – 4pm

Janina Monkutė Marks, born in Radviliškis, Lithuania on September 21, 1923, passed away on November 13, 2010. Her work elegantly combines printmaking, painting and textile to create compelling, visual stories of her family and culture.

LOYOLA ACADEMY AP SHOW

March 1 – 4, 2018
Opening Reception: Thursday, March 1 from 6:30 – 8pm

The EAC is excited to host Loyola Academy’s AP and Honors art students in our galleries for the seventh year! The Loyola Academy students work together to curate, install, and publicize the event, as well as speak publicly about their artwork and inspirations. The artwork is beautifully executed and offers audiences a window into what is on the minds of our younger artists.
