Course Description:

This course is designed for students interested in all aspects of lost wax casting, regardless of experience or skill level, and Advanced Students pursuing individual projects. Advanced Students need to be proficient in fabrication and finishing techniques.  Assistance will be offered to all regarding design, unique bezel challenges and gemstone settings.  We will cast lost wax projects at least once during each term. Lost Wax Casting Students, all skill levels welcomed. Advanced Students, Intermediate to Advanced skill levels.

Each week, you’ll experiment with a new medium—print transfer, charcoal, collage, watercolor, and interpretive painting—using a different photo of your animal companion. This is a relaxed, studio-based class focused on playful exploration, personal style, and deepening your creative connection with your beloved muse.

Get outside and draw! Take advantage of Summer with this outdoor observational drawing class. You will be led on drawing excursions in and around Evanston to learn to draw the urban landscape. Elements of linear perspective, observational drawing, and color will be brought together in this unique class. Alternate indoor locations will be used in the event of inclement weather.

This class will focus on developing individual projects. The instructors will work one on one with students. Demonstrations will be presented so students can build upon their technical skills and develop their designs for both jewelry and objects. Topics may include forming metal, hollow construction, improving soldering skills, using Argentium, and hydraulic press techniques.

Find your voice as an artist!

Work on the project of your choice in a welcoming environment with fellow artists. Get ideas and encouragement in moving your creations forward. Aspects of composition, value, and color will be discussed and demonstrated. Students may work from a photo, a still life, or from pure imagination.

This class is open to all painting and drawing media.

Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Course Description:

Perfect for beginners interested in learning how to make one-of-a-kind jewelry. Learn basic fabrication skills, such as using a jeweler’s saw, drilling, finishing, soldering, riveting, basic stone setting and color on metal techniques. Expect to complete your own bracelets, rings, necklaces and more!

Course Description:

Explore figure drawing fundamentals: proportions, gesture, anatomy, line, shape, composition and value, while working in dry media such as graphite, charcoal, and pastel. Study both classical and contemporary examples that range from Durer to Diebenkorn.
