Course Description:
Explore figure drawing fundamentals: proportions, gesture, anatomy, line, shape, composition and value, while working in dry media such as graphite, charcoal, and pastel. Study both classical and contemporary examples that range from Durer to Diebenkorn.

This is for those interested in studio access without instruction. Anyone enrolling must adhere to EAC’s studio policies on materials, clean-up, and entrance and exit procedures. Prerequisite: students enrolled in Independent Study must have completed one Figure Sculpture class at EAC. Time depends on class schedules and will be determined in the first week of class.

Course Description:
Learn to create abstract 3D art forms by exploring non-objective, organic and figurative themes. Stoneware clay, along with metal, glass, and found objects may be used. Instruction in slab and coil building techniques will be investigated. Some sculpture experience is recommended. This class will use two specific stoneware clays with grog added for stability.
