This class focuses on how to take patchwork blocks to a finished quilt or quilted project. Learn the basics of basting a quilt “sandwich” to simple ways of machine quilting, and multiple options for finishing the edges of your quilt or quilted project. Students must be confident in using a basic sewing machine.

Beginning Quilting I: Patchwork Basics

Course Description: 

Learn to sew patchwork quilt blocks with a sewing machine. You’ll explore all the fundamentals, from using a rotary cutter and ruler to tips and tricks for perfect machine piecing and seam pressing. Create a new block each week, beginning with the simplest design, and adding new elements with each block. Students must be confident in using a sewing machine.
