Calling all young inventors! This week is dedicated to exploring the exciting worlds of art and invention. From futuristic gadgets to whimsical contraptions, students will learn to think outside the box to design their inventions. Students will then use their designs to craft prototypes of their inventions using craft materials including cardboard, wire, and more. Families and friends are invited to join us on the last day of camp for a presentation of their inventions.

Students will explore various forms of representational art, including landscapes and still lifes while developing their painting skills. While this camp concentrates on observational rendering skills, students will also have the opportunity to create imaginative and experimental pieces, allowing for both structured learning and creative explorations.

Lights, camera, ACTION! Students will learn how to develop a plot, create props to set the scene and collaborate with others to create a short film. Students will be introduced to a variety of filming and editing techniques. Join us on the last day of camp for the World Premiere of this week’s films. Note: Students will use cameras and MacBooks provided by the EAC. Students are welcome to bring in personal cameras.

Campers will choose their favorite creature, cut patterns, stitch pieces together, and bring their cuddly buddy to life with stuffing and decorations. Along the way, they’ll practice patience, creativity, and fine motor skills, ending the week with a handmade friend to take home and cherish.
