“Dimethylamine” by Melody Saraniti is one of the paintings on display as part of Evanston Art Center’s exhibit “Dialogue Chicago: 12.” The exhibit was organized as a celebration of the fifteenth year of Dialogue Chicago, a supportive community for local artists to practice.

Jennifer Hepp, Reporter

Dialogue Chicago will celebrate 15 years as a community for local artists to practice and grow their crafts with an exhibit at the Evanston Art Center that will run through April 17. The community began in 2002 as artist Sarah Krepp’s post-grad seminar out of her home studio for artists in the Chicago area.

The exhibit features 12 Dialogue Chicago alumni who present art from a variety of disciplines, including photography, painting, sculpture and mixed media. The exhibit is titled “Dialogue Chicago: 12.”

Contribute to a Bigger Picture of Arts Engagement

The Evanston Art Center's new facility located at 1717 Central Street is currently being transformed into a hub for arts and culture.

Our Capital Campaign, SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE, which was launched in July has collected $1,811,596 in generous contributuions. With the addition of future pledges, we are now less than $500,000 shy of our overall goal of $2,500,000. Your tax-deductible constributions will enable us to complete the renovation, purchase studio equipment, and move to the new site in May 2015.

We're planning a dynamic mash-up of discipline-specific visual arts studios and mixed-use spaces in which digital fabrication, craft, design, music, movement, film, language, storytelling, social practice, song, and even the culinary arts will be offered. This new community of makers of all ages and backgrounds will be encouraged to take an active role in the life of the center.

WE NEED YOUR CAMPAIGN SUPPORT TODAY!

Please consider being part of this important community arts effort which will benefit many. Send a tax-deductible contribution today.

Thank You to our Faculty for a Wonderful Exhibition

The faculty of the Evanston Art Center comprises over 50 talented teaching artists working in a variety of disciplines. Every other year, the Art Center invites each of our faculty members to submit one work to our all-faculty exhibition.

This eclectic, well-attended exhibition gives our teaching artists an opportunity to invite curators, collectors, press, and friends to view their artworks. Many of the pieces will be for sale and proceeds benefit both the artists and the Art Center.
