Come join us for creative play with new and old favorites - from crayons to pastels, watercolors to acrylics - we'll try them all! In this course, we will also explore early art principles such as balance, contrast, movement, and pattern. This course is perfect for students who wish to explore a variety of media and techniques. Students will complete unique pieces to highlight their studies with each medium. All pieces will be brought home by the end of the course. Let the creativity begin!

Garment Making Basics

Course Description:

If you are ready to tackle sewing a simple garment but don't know how to begin, this is the class for you! Each class is dedicated to exploring a basic technique from different types of seams to sewing buttonholes and hand-finishing hems. You will complete examples of each technique to take home and reference when sewing your next garment.

Students must be confident in basic sewing machine operation.

Bookbinding: Basics and Beyond Ages 16+

Course Description:

Learn the materials and methods of bookbinding, and make a variety of handmade books. Starting with folded books and pamphlet stitch, students will gradually hone their skill and continue on to more complex books. You will complete eight or more books over the course of the session, books that can be used as journals or given as gifts! 

Repeaters of the course will practice learning new skills alongside new binders, honing their craft.

Intermediate Woodworking for Adults

Course Description:

Building upon the information, tools, and techniques covered in the Basic Woodworking class or for new students with previous woodworking experience. Students will continue working on current projects as well as beginning new ones approved by the instructor. Understanding wood and wood movement, purchasing raw lumber, furniture joinery, finishing techniques, and a thorough understanding of hand and power tools in today’s woodworking shops will be explored. Students will be expected to purchase their own materials for their projects.

Basic Woodworking for Adults

Includes a comprehensive review of tools and techniques for beginning wood workers. Hand and Power tools, joinery, and finishes with be explored. You are encouraged to purchase and fabricate at least one woodworking project. Students are responsible for purchasing their own materials including Wood, glass, hardware, and any other items needed for their piece[s].
