The Art of Storytelling
Poetic Storytelling with Oba William King (Atrium Gallery 2nd Floor)
Performances take place at 1:15pm and 2pm
Oba William King, the Poetic Storyteller, will perform in the Second Floor Atrium Gallery between 1 and 3PM.
King is recognized as one of the most exciting Storytellers of his peer group. Since his debut with the National Association of Black Storytellers at the San Diego conference in 2006, Oba has ignited audiences with his ability to capture their attention and gently release them into the playful realm of rhythm and rhyme. He masterfully combines professional theatrical training with a distinct poetic style. Oba is an entertaining educator sharing the traditional art form, as if it were a sacred gift.

Best Friend Monkey Storytelling and Interactive Activity (1st Floor Gallery)
Storytelling takes place at 12pm and 3pm
Join Jackie Theibert, local author of “Aneeka and Juanito,” as we explore the six universal emotions by getting into character! We will read the book about best friend monkeys Aneeka and Juanito and their adventure where they learn why it’s so important to take care of their environment. We will pose as monkeys and then learn the dynamics of figure drawing as we make monkeys come to life on paper! We will also do a reading and activity based on Jackie’s new interactive ABC journal, "Yogi Monsters.”
