Course Description:

Explore the art of architectural drawing as you learn to depict buildings, interiors, and urban spaces. Students will practice perspective, proportion, and composition while developing technical skills and a personal style for creating detailed, dynamic architectural illustrations! Note: Weather permitting, students may also draw outside or along Central Street.

Course Description:

Embark on a week-long artistic exploration! Each day brings a new adventure as students immerse themselves in the beauty of various Evanston and Northshore locations including Northwestern University, Bahai Temple, and Chicago Botanic Gardens. Students will experiment with a variety of materials like watercolors, pens, and scratchboards in a new setting each day. Note: A detailed schedule will be sent to students before the start of the course. Students are advised to bring a lunch and water bottle each day.

Figure & Portrait Drawing Ages 12-14 (Week 9)

Course Description:

Learn the art of figure and portrait drawing! This camp is designed for students interested in learning gesture drawing, line quality, and shading techniques. With guided instruction, students will concentrate on proportions and simplifying shapes to achieve realistic renderings. All skill levels are welcome! Note: A live clothed model may be used in some sessions.

Drawing From Life Ages 12-14 (Week 8)

Course Description:

Sharpen your observational skills in this Drawing from Life studio! Students will improve their hand-eye coordination and refine their drawing abilities by exploring still life, natural landscapes, and portraiture. All skill levels are welcome to join and learn essential drawing techniques using charcoal, pen and ink, oil pastel, and more. Note: Weather permitting, some classes may be held outside at McCulloch Park.  

 

Filmmaker's Camp Ages 12-14 (Week 7)

Course Description:

Young filmmakers will team up to dive into the world of storytelling and movie production. Throughout the week, campers will practice filming and editing, learn how to build compelling plots, write engaging scripts, and design their own props. Families are invited to celebrate the big finale, a special World Premiere featuring the films created during camp. Note: Cameras and MacBooks will be provided by the EAC, though students may bring personal cameras if they wish.
