Course Description:

If you are new to either art making or screen printing, this class is for you. Using a mix of techniques and tools, you’ll learn to photo expose screens and play with images and inks to make prints on paper and/or clothing. You can produce a lot of prints quickly, each one with slight imperfections that make it unique. Plan to play and make a few mistakes and messes along the way. You’ll have help and examples to guide you to a finished project meaningful to you.

Course Description:

This introductory course will get you started with screen printing.  Photographic process will be taught as well as images applied to the screen with brush and drawing fluid.  A knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is not a requirement but can be helpful to those that know it.  Photoshop is not taught in this class.  Most hand-drawn images can be used as imagery for photo process and this will be demonstrated.  

Relief Printmaking

Course Description:

Explore traditional and contemporary methods of relief printmaking to become familiar with the tools, techniques and the translation of imagery and ideas for this rewarding process. New students will be introduced to linoleum, wood, and alternative substrates. Returning students will be guided through more advanced techniques including reduction prints, additive processes, multiple block and color methods of printing, as well as exploring more contemporary approaches and applications.

Independent Study: Printmaking

Course Description:

This is for experienced printmakers who want studio access without instruction (a monitor is present). Anyone enrolling must take a studio orientation and adhere to EAC studio policies on materials, clean-up, as well as entrance and exit procedures. We strongly prefer that at least one EAC printmaking course has been taken prior. Independent Study schedules will be announced the first week of class. New enrollees must contact Director of Education or Studio Coordinator Duffy O’Connor prior to registering.
