Watercolor for Beginners
Course Description:
An indepth color study as well as a shading study lay the foundation. Creating different textures and learning the basics of building a solid composition lead to a full painting by the end of the term.

Course Description:
This class is a natural next step for students looking to continue studying the drawing process. It is perfect for anyone who has taken a beginning drawing course recently or years ago. Using both color and black and white mediums, we will re-examine the fundamentals and begin to apply them to the next level. A variety of techniques and styles will be discussed and pursued through direct observation and personal expression.

Make Your Mark! Explore drawing fundamentals: gesture, line, shape, measuring, and composition. Work with charcoal and explore a variety of techniques.

Open Figure Drawing Studio
Course Description:
Participants must have previously completed one EAC painting or drawing class. Figure Studio offers participants the opportunity to work in their choice of media and study the nude. Poses range from one to thirty minutes. Instruction is not included; a classroom monitor will lead the class.

Landscape Painting in the Studio
Course Description:
Create landscape paintings in the studio using photos as a starting point. Learn to express your love of nature in paint, utilizing color, composition, and creative mark-making. Great paintings of the past (& present) will be referenced to inspire you to move beyond simply copying the information in photos, and help you find your voice as an artist.
This class is suitable for oil, acrylic, and pastel.

Watercolors: Materials, Composition, and Technique Ages 16+
Course Description:
Create both vibrant and subdued paintings with strong compositions using watercolor tubes and watercolor pencils. Instruction includes watercolor techniques- applying watercolor washes, painting wet in wet, and painting without a sketch. Learn about staining and lightfast colors. The instructor will provide a variety of still-lifes. We will have individual and group critiques to receive supportive responses from classmates.
