Course Description:
Historically women in Japan collected fabrics and stitched them together using Sashiko, a hand sewing technique meaning “little stabs” to make their families’ clothes and interior decorations. Savor the therapeutic nature of quiet repetition through the Sashiko stitching process as we each create a stitched coaster and a sachet. The kit (Sashiko pattern and fabric, Sashiko needles and thread) will be available for purchase from the instructor for $9.
