Course Description:

This class will build upon the information, tools and techniques covered in Basic Woodworking for Adults for any continuing students, and new students with previous woodworking experience. Students will continue to work on current projects, and start new ones approved by the instructor. Understanding wood and wood movement, purchasing raw lumber, furniture joinery, and finishing techniques, and a thorough understanding of hand and power tools in today’s woodworking shops will be discussed throughout the term. Students are responsible for purchasing safety items, and materials and hardware for their own projects.

Except for the Independent Study Program, EAC membership is no longer required to take adult classes. EAC members receive a tuition discount on all adult classes, youth classes and workshops. A $75 Independent Study membership is required to participate in the Independent Study Program. The Evanston resident discount no longer applies.
