Join Art After Five coordinator and celebrated artist Linda Kramer on the evening of September 10 for a visit to a private art collection. Focused on American art of the past forty years, the collection includes works on paper by Alex Katz, Philip Pearlstein, Joel Shapiro, Elizabeth Murray, David Salle and others. A concentration of Chicago Imagist works includes paintings by Roger Brown and Barbara Rossi, works on paper by Jim Nutt, Gladys Nilsson, Karl Wirsum and Ray Yoshida, and prints by Ed Paschke and Christina Ramberg. More recent artists represented by prints are Susan Rothenberg, Martin Puryear, Kiki Smith, Carrol Dunham and Kara Walker. The collection also includes a body of work by the recently discovered Chicago photographer Vivian Maier.

We would like to thank the Bowmans for opening their home and allowing us to view their collection. Russell Bowman was Director of the Milwaukee Art Museum from 1985 to 2002 and since 2002 has operated Russell Bowman Art Advisory, a gallery and art advisory service in Chicago.
