Course Description:

During this 1-week intensive, students will have the opportunity to visit a variety of art and cultural institutions where they will spend the day making art. On Monday, students will meet in the parking lot at Bahai Temple for an Architecture Day where they’ll sketch and then pen and ink the Temple. On Tuesday, students will meet at The Art Institute of Chicago’s Print and Drawing room where they’ll use graphite for figurative work. On Wednesday, students will meet at the Chicago Botanic Garden for nature watercolors. On Thursday, students will meet at EAC for acrylic painting with still life. On Friday, students will meet at the Field Museum for scratchboard with animals as the subject matter. Students should bring a sack lunch and bottle(s) of water for the day.

Except for the Independent Study Program, EAC membership is no longer required to take adult classes. EAC members receive a tuition discount on all adult classes, youth classes and workshops. A $75 Independent Study membership is required to participate in the Independent Study Program. The Evanston resident discount no longer applies.
