High School Week is a new initiative at Evanston Art Center for local teens interested in furthering their artistic abilities in the subjects of painting and drawing over the summer. The program was developed out of needs expressed by visual art department chairs and students from Loyola Academy and New Trier High School. The goal is to provide advanced high school art students with a week-long painting and drawing experience that pushes their skills to new heights. This one-week intensive program is designed to enhance a student's ability to render objects and the figure through dry and wet media. In this program, students will not only engage technique and study, but learn how to build concepts and think like an artist.
