EVANSTON ART CENTER ANNOUNCES AN EXHIBITION OF WORKS BY ANNETTE TUROW AND LINDA ROBINSON GORDON
The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to welcome the public to an exhibition of works by Annette Turow and Linda Robinson Gordon. From February 3rd through March 4th, the Art Center will be exhibiting Annette Turow’s abstract paintings and Linda Robinson Gordon’s mixed media sculpture, which will create a dynamic and complex relationship. Working with various materials such as copper wire, mud, and paper, Robinson Gordon’s work speaks to a subtle beauty and delicate craftsmanship. Turow’s paintings compliment these organic, natural sculptures referencing the human body and abstracted forms.
Annette Turow is a Chicago-area artist who earned her B.F.A from University of Illinois, Champaign, IL and received her M.F.A from Stanford University. She has exhibited her work in the Walter Wickiser Gallery, NY; Bridgeport Art Center, Chicago, IL; Madden Arts Center, Decatur, IL; Rena Sternberg Gallery, Glencoe, IL. She has also participated in numerous group shows such as Return of the Exquisite Corpse, Printworks Gallery, Chicago, IL; Exhibition and Presentation, Midwest Palliative Care, Glenview, IL; and Group Show at the Jean Albano Gallery, Chicago, IL.
Linda Robinson Gordon currently resides in Chicago, IL. She received her M.F.A. from the University of Minnesota and B.F.A. from Washington University. In 2009, Robinson Gordon completed her residency program at the Ragdale Artist Residency program in Lake Forest, IL. Her work can be found in the collections of the Illinois State Museum, Maryland Federation of Art, South Shores Art, and ARC Gallery and Educational Foundation. Linda’s most recent work was shown at Governor’s State University, Gallery Pink, Noyes Cultural Center, and Almquist Gallery. In 2011, she received the Merit Award at the 67th Annual Salon Show, curated by Lanny Silverman, at South Shore Arts in Munster, IN. She concentrates on the subtle and delicate craft of mixed media sculpture.
New Work will be exhibited in the main floor gallery of the Art Center. There will be an opening reception on Sunday, February 5th from 1-4pm which will be free and open to the public.
