Course Description:
Hand lettering becomes a peaceful, contemplative practice as the rhythmic movement of the pen on paper becomes a moving meditation. Expand your lettering skills with individual instructor feedback and encouragement. Spacing in relation to the letterforms is emphasized, plus the historical context of the ancient Uncial hand, made famous in the 9th-century Irish Book of Kells. No prior art or calligraphy experience is required for this beginning class.

Except for the Independent Study Program, EAC membership is no longer required to take adult classes. EAC members receive a tuition discount on all adult classes, youth classes and workshops. A $75 Independent Study membership is required to participate in the Independent Study Program. The Evanston resident discount no longer applies.
