Presence and Absence: The Space Between Artist Talk
Sunday, August 2, 1:00–3:00 PM
Join us for a special Artist Talk at the closing celebration of Presence and Absence: The Space Between.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors have engaged in thoughtful conversations about memory, loss, resilience, impermanence, and the traces we leave behind. This Artist Talk offers an opportunity to continue that dialogue by hearing directly from the artists whose work has shaped the exhibition.
The conversation will begin with four participating artists, Joanne Aono, Cathi Schwalbe, Piloto Nuevas, and Savneet Talwar, who will share their conceptual interpretations of the exhibition's central theme—Presence and Absence—and discuss how those ideas informed their work. Their reflections will serve as a springboard for a broader conversation, as all participating artists will be invited to join the discussion.
Whether you are an artist, collector, student, or simply curious about the topic of the exhibition, you are warmly invited to take part. Audience members will have the opportunity to listen, ask questions, and engage in a lively exchange of ideas about the role of art in helping us understand memory, identity, absence, presence, and our shared human experience.
We hope you will join us for an inspiring afternoon of conversation as we celebrate the closing of this remarkable exhibition and the many voices that have made it possible.
We look forward to welcoming you.
