Course Description:

A fun twist on a traditional color theory class, you will be exposed to a plethora of fundamental color studies, but with an emphasis on using color strategies to evoke a particular mood. You will start with simple color exercises that get progressively more ambitious, before transitioning to studying the exercises of the famous colorist Josef Albers, and finish by completing a painting in a limited palette. Painting exercises will be supplemented with demonstrations, robust discussions and slide presentations, exposing you to new artists and techniques for inspiration. Whether you are a working artist seeking out a color-intensive, completely new to visual art, or somewhere in between, this course is for anyone interested in discovering the power of color.
