The Evanston Art Center and Richard G. Driehaus Art Exhibition Lending Foundation (AELF) are celebrating a collaboration between our institutions with a special loan exhibition creating a dialogue between historic Tiffany stained glass windows and contemporary artists. Contemporary Reflections on Tiffany Glass: Light, Color & Form will be on view at the EAC from January 10 to April 15, 2027.
Artists working in all media are invited to apply; those working in glass are particularly encouraged.
Artists can respond to any aspect of the Tiffany stained glass windows or the general Tiffany stained glass aesthetic that inspires their creativity, including style, media, use of color, light, composition, and the Arts and Crafts and the Art Nouveau art movements in the US.
Images of the Driehaus AELF's Tiffany glass windows that will be on loan to the EAC for this exhibition are available to view here.
The Driehaus AELF also invites artists to visit the Illuminated Legacy exhibition on view now at Navy Pier, where they can directly experience these works of art and be inspired. This exhibitions highlights ten windows from AELF's collection.

About the Richard H. Driehaus Art Exhibition Lending Foundation
The Richard H. Driehaus Art Exhibition Lending Foundation’s (AELF) primary mission is to lend its art and automotive collection to public institutions. The Foundation believes that the arts play an essential role in cultural life. These loans encourage knowledge sharing, creativity, and ultimately enhance a robust and diverse design ecosystem. The loans shall further engage and inspire local and global communities through exploration and ongoing conversations in art, architecture, and design of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with a focus on the Gilded Age period. The collection reflects and is inspired by the interests, vision, and focus of its late founder and philanthropist.
Born and raised in Chicago, Richard Driehaus proudly earned both his B.A. and M.B.A. from DePaul University. He began his finance career in various brokerage firms before the foundation of Driehaus Capital Management LLC in 1982. Both individually and through the work of the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation and the charitable lead irrevocable trusts he created in his lifetime, Richard supported an array of organizations and initiatives, including programs that helped working people, programs in historic preservation or architectural landmarks, architectural design, the arts, investigative journalism, and fashion. Supporting arts and culture was of high importance to Richard, and his collection exists as a testament to his vision to inspire and bring joy to public and private audiences through transformative experiences with great works of art, architecture, and automotive design.
