Erica McKeehen

About:

Erica McKeehen is a multidisciplinary teaching artist based in Chicago, IL. She currently works in arts administration and exhibitions at Evanston Art Center.

Erica creates self-portraits and images, often paired with interviews and writing, of her friends and peers who are burlesque performers. In building long-term collaborative narratives, she explores identity, storytelling, and performance, presenting nuanced views of experience, sexuality, and autonomy. Alongside her visual practice, she is a performer and the co-creator of Lust for Life, a rock n’ roll burlesque show, with her collaborator Kitty Tornado.

Erica lives in the city with her two senior Siamese cats, and besides visual art and photography, she loves listening to/collecting rock n’ roll music & attending concerts, taking long walks around the city, drinking iced coffee, and Gordon Ramsay cooking shows!
