Course Description:
Explore a wide range of encaustic painting techniques including mark making, mixed media collage with wax, shellac burn techniques, and textural impressionistic painting. Encaustic is an ancient art medium consisting of beeswax, resin, and pigments. It has become easily accessible to modern day artists. The translucent, seductive qualities of layered wax will engage you into creating unique one-of-a-kind paintings. All supplies are included, and you will leave with a minimum of one completed painting.

• In-person class (with reduced capacity) closely following Restore Illinois guidelines.
• Face coverings are required during the duration of class.

Except for the Independent Study Program, EAC membership is no longer required to take adult classes. EAC members receive a tuition discount on all adult classes, youth classes and workshops. A $75 Independent Study membership is required to participate in the Independent Study Program. The Evanston resident discount no longer applies.
