Twelve-week class beginning September 17, 2021
This class was overpriced in the printed catalog.
Get an introduction to the fundamentals of observational drawing. You will begin drawing basic geometric forms and gradually advance to more complex subject matter. Using black & white media such as graphite (pencil), conte crayon and ink, you will apply a variety of drawing techniques to produce light and shadow, contrast, depth, and perspective to make drawings that offer a realistic yet artistic image. Perfect for students without much drawing experience and a good refresher for those with experience. Discover and develop your way of drawing - you can do this! The majority of class time will be spent drawing with the instructor's assistance. Weekly demonstrations will be used to offer a clear example of how to approach subject matter and the technical aspects of drawing with a limited range of media. Brief individual and group critiques will allow students to receive objective feedback on their work. It is my goal that by the end of this course each student will possess improved skill at making drawings of realistic subject matter.
Skill Level: Beginner, repeat students welcome
