Course Description:

This class explores the history of graffiti in and around Chicago while giving students opportunities to explore their own characters and wild styles on paper. Attention is given to community graffiti murals and legal graffiti projects in our city and how they shape the aesthetics of our communities. By the middle of the week youth begin working with non-toxic water-based spray paint indoors on cardboard. Weather permitting, students get to create a real aerosol piece outside at the Evanston Art Center on plywood by week’s end.

Except for the Independent Study Program, EAC membership is no longer required to take adult classes. EAC members receive a tuition discount on all adult classes, youth classes and workshops.
