Monday 1 - 4 pm
Twelve-week class beginning June 11, 2018.
Over centuries, many artists have kept a daily sketchbook/journal. It is the foundation of their projects. From Leonard da Vinci to Rembrandt, Henri Matisse and many other artists have started their own painting projects with small drawings in a sketchbook. Learn how to sketch simple, quick small images that can be the base for future projects or kept as a diary. In this class, the instructor will teach you how to draw almost anything, from landscapes to cityscapes, still-life, figures, and more. Composition, perspective, proportions, values and style will be discussed in the class. Media adaptable to drawing will be offered to students to be used, such as graphite, ink, conté pencils. A studio class with significant independent work.
