Lecture and Event Series with Restoration Division

EVANSTON ART CENTER ANNOUNCES a series of free lectures and events in partnership with Restoration Division

 

The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to announce a partnership with Restoration Division to offer a unique set of lectures and events that are free to the public. Restoration Division specializes in conservation work on all media, including paintings, artworks on paper, photographs, documents, Asian screens and scrolls, objects, frames, murals, icons and textiles. Come by to learn different parts of the restoration process, as well as consult with conservation professionals on ways to restore your own artwork!

 

Thursday, Nov. 17, 6 PM-7 PM

A Lecture on Painting & Frame Conservation:

From Old Masters to Contemporary, explore the tricks of the conservation trade with experts from Restoration Division.

 

Sunday, Dec. 11, 10 AM-1PM

An Antiques Roadshow-style Event at EAC!

Dust off the artworks and objects collecting dust in your attic! Consult with conservation professionals who will tell you about your artwork's condition history and what can be done to bring it back to its former glory.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 14, 6 PM-7PM

A Lecture on Paper Conservation:

Prints, watercolors, wallpaper, Asian screens and scrolls, photographs, documents, and more.

 

Saturday, Jan. 7th, 10 AM-7PM

An Antiques Roadshow-style Event at EAC!

A Lecture on Mural Conservation:

Learn about some of Chicago's most historically significant murals and would it took to restore them.

 

Restoration Division is among the largest private fine art conservation studios in the country. At the same time, they are a small enough company to be nimble, caring, and responsive. They are based in Chicago and work nationwide with museums, galleries, framers, private collectors, appraisers, and auction houses.

 

Evanston Art Center, a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization, is dedicated to fostering the appreciation and expression of the arts among diverse audiences. The Art Center offers extensive and innovative instruction in broad areas of artistic endeavor through classes, exhibitions, interactive arts activities, and community outreach initiatives.

Evanston Art Center is located at 1717 Central Street, Evanston, IL. Evanston Art Center Gallery Hours: 9am – 9pm, Monday – Thursday; 9am – 5pm, Friday; 9am – 4pm, Saturday & Sunday. First and second floor gallery spaces are handicapped accessible. Limited free parking is available.
