Pods Seeds What New Beginning by Daniel Godston
pods seeds what new beginning how to begin
what new
beginning who has seen the seeds who has sown
seeds how
to reap what we sow do we know what will become
of buttons
on stems to bud or bloom scorchbrittle or frostfreeze
a button
falls off another button falls of this old shirt do I
sew them
back on or throw the shirt away or give it to good
will what
will is good enough detritus or trash entropy or regeneration
salvage a
wrecked heap or junk it and start anew what new what
is known
what is sewn its hard to tell sometimes its easy
enough to
have an impulse conviction a static to jumpstart urge
this pod
made it through a hard winter flurries blizzards blankets
drifts and
mounds of fresh and ugly snow a february thaw springs false
start an
april surprise snowstorm yet this pod falls apart into
flakes chips
and strands with a slight twist of two fingers but those seeds
what will
become of one seed what will become of any one seed ––
