EAC BOARD OF TRUSTEES NAMES PAULA DANOFF INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Norah Diedrich has resigned her position as Executive Director to pursue a wonderful opportunity at the Newport Art Museum in Newport, Rhode Island. Diedrich has led the EAC team through a very critical 5-years including the reality of a relocation, a new facility search and all that that entailed.

The Board of Trustees Executive Committee has put in place a transition team led by Paula Danoff as Interim Executive Director, a new staff member providing operational expertise, and Trustee Renee Schleicher to organize and orchestrate the move to the EAC’s new facility which is currently under construction.

Danoff has been with the EAC for over 8 years bringing her not-for-profit experience and initiative to the Art Center serving most recently as Director of Development and Communication, a role that she will continue to lead. During that time, Danoff has been responsible for strategic planning, fundraising, grant-writing, our annual appeal campaign, donor cultivation and all communication. She established our Fund Development Plan, Corporate Relations Plan, and our organizational Marketing Plan, as well as having developed and managed the initial stages of the Capital Campaign and Planned Giving Program. Danoff also initiated the EAC Internship Program with proven success at no cost to the organization.

“I am honored to serve the EAC, an arts organization that means so much to me and where I’ve spent time as a student, staff member, and now in my new role as Interim Executive Director,” said Danoff.

Danoff grew up in Evanston and graduated from Evanston Township High School.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Knox College and an M.B.A. from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. She has also achieved the rank of third sensei from the Sogetsu School of Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arrangement.

Danoff, our transition team, and strong staff are dedicated to completing the EAC’s reinvention, expansion, and relocation to its new home at 1717 Central Street, scheduled to open in May 2015.

The Evanston Art Center is dedicated to fostering the appreciation and expression of the arts among diverse audiences by offering extensive and innovative instruction in broad areas of artistic endeavor through classes, exhibitions, interactive arts activities, and community outreach.
