EAC benefit springs for art outreach

During the Evanston Art Center’s 24th annual spring benefit, the art-loving public had an opportunity to view and bid on paintings, drawings, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, prints and other artworks donated by more than 160 Chicago area artists.
With more than 250 guests in attendance, the event netted $50,000 in art sales and donations, which will provide art education, exhibitions and other outreach programs to the community.

Physiotasmagorical was listed in the , along with a photo of Lindsay Obermeyer’s Influenza. Also noted was that the show included local favorites and mentioned Christa Donner, Annie Heckman and Paul Nudd, as some of the participating artists.

In his February letter, Paul Klein mentioned the EAC’s Physiotasmagorical show as one of the best art shows close to Chicago. Claiming the show to be intriguing and interesting rather than forceful, as is often the case with other curators, Klein includes several pictures from the show, including works by Jeffery Bleem, Caroline Desch, and Susan Smith Trees.
