Do you want to gain experience in public relations, marketing, and fundraising while working in a fun, relaxed, and creative environment? If the answer is 'yes', then Evanston Art Center’s 'Communications Internship' is for you! This is an amazing opportunity to learn valuable skills while contributing to a great cause.
A non-profit organization, the Evanston Art Center is one of the largest community art centers in Illinois. For over 75 years, the EAC has been dedicated to fostering the appreciation and expression of the visual arts among the diverse audiences of the Greater Chicago/North Shore region, striving to make the art of our time an accessible and integral part of the community’s life.
Responsibilities include:
- Cultivating relationships with newspapers, magazines, and radio stations
- Writing and distributing press releases
- Assembling and distributing media kits
- Post event follow up and letter writing
- Working with director of development and communications to develop new PR strategies
Skills Required:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Familiarity with PR
- Ability to multitask
- Mac proficiency a plus
Hours are flexible.
This is an unpaid internship but we will be happy to write letters of recommendation and assist you in obtaining course credit.
