Event Planning Internship @ the EAC
Are you a people person who wants to gain experience planning large fundraising events? This is a hands-on internship where your contribution will be valuable and evident. At Evanston Art Center, you will have the opportunity to network, have fun, and learn a great deal while contributing to an important cause.
A non-profit organization, the Evanston Art Center is one of the largest community art centers in Illinois. For over 75 years, the EAC has been dedicated to fostering the appreciation and expression of the visual arts among the diverse audiences of the Greater Chicago/North Shore region, striving to make the art of our time an accessible and integral part of the community’s life.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with event planning and logistics
• Develop and distribute event materials
• Solicit in kind donations, underwriting, and auction items from various donors
• Assist with recruiting event sponsors
• Assist with recruiting and coordinating event volunteers
• Maintain database, write, and distribute thank you letters
Skills Required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized
• Working knowledge of MS
• Experience with database management and mail merge a plus
Hours are flexible.
This is an unpaid internship but we will be happy to write letters of recommendation and assist you in obtaining course credit.
